Anxiety is a natural part of being human, and that fear of the unknown exists to protect us from potential harm. However, there are many times when that fear becomes too strong or sticks around for too long and does more harm than good. When we strip down our experiences to the simple and present moment, we get a better picture of where our experiences clash with reality and, subsequently, where this anxiety emerges.
I treat anxiety through a three-staged approach. We begin with a discussion about the general psychology of anxiety and the specific sources and symptoms that you may be experiencing. Alongside this, you can expect to build a toolbox of relaxation and coping skills for when everyday anxiety becomes just a bit too much to handle. Finally, with the right foundation set, we can explore the sources of anxiety and approach them head-on.
